Whew! KMA Finished.
I was worried there for a while, but I finally finished Kiss Me Again.
Two months late. About 30,000 more words than I planned, but now I've got a new novel, my first adult contemporary romance. Yay me!
The first round of edits are done. Over the next week it'll get another round of edits, a proofread, and on November 1st, I plan on submitting it to the Kindle Scout program. If you aren't familiar with Kindle Scout check it out here. It's a personal goal to sell my work to a publisher so I'm going for it. I've got nothing to lose. Trust me, you'll be hearing all about it since part of the selection process involves begging people to vote for your book to be published.
The selection process lasts about 45 days after which Amazon either buys the book, and they publish it, or they pass on it, and I publish it myself. I'll spend the 45 days getting the paperback version of Kiss Me Again ready and working on Sea Forever, the working title of the next book in the Emerald Series. (Hey, I'm open to title suggestions)
The blurb for Kiss Me Again...
Sometimes the last thing you’re looking for is the one thing you need.
Since her divorce, Kenna James has been all work and no play. When she accepts an invitation to spend a week at a luxurious beach house, she expects a quiet seven days of sun and relaxation. What she’s not expecting is for devilishly handsome Nick Frost to be there too. Kenna isn’t looking for a fling. She sure isn’t looking for a relationship. She likes her newfound independence and isn’t ready to muddy the waters by adding a man into the mix in any capacity. Not even larger-than-life Nick. Just because Nick kissed her once (and blew her mind in the process) doesn’t mean she’s interested. Add in the fact that their kids are dating, and that makes Nick off limits. Doesn’t it?
When Heisman Trophy winner and former NFL quarterback, Nick Frost realizes he’s got an extra houseguest, he’s thrilled. Kissing Kenna at a New Year’s Eve party while he was out with another woman? Not one of his finer moments. But it’s a moment he hasn’t been able to forget. Now that fate has landed Kenna in his lap, he’s determined to get a repeat. Too bad Kenna isn’t onboard. But if there’s one thing Nick loves, it’s a challenge. And the clock is ticking. He has one week to convince Kenna the kiss they shared wasn’t a mistake. Seven days to get her to her utter three little words: Kiss me again.
If you're into lighthearted romance with not a lot of angst between an older couple--is 43 old?--then Kiss Me Again is the book for you.
